Finally cared enough to get video literate.
Here's a couple videos from April Mid-Ohio with NASA Great Lakes.

New Club Course AI Track Record - 1:37.838. Four tenths under the old record.
Thanks for posting ... nice to see how you go from left foot braking and then heel toe when shifting is in order..
Here's one from Road America last year. I reset the AI track record in the race, but I can't remember what lap. It was interesting when the hood pin support broke and the hood turned into a 6-8" cowl at 140MPH.

Here's a clip from last year at National Corvette Museum (NCM). Sunday was a non-points day so they could hand out trophies at the banquet on Saturday night. Since it was a fun day (but contingency still on the line), we inverted the entire race group.
I'm a dummy and forgot to turn on the camera until part way through Lap 2, so it gets right to the action. I make some mistakes, but still throw down a lap good enough to reset the track record again (I reset on Saturday).
Great stuff TJ.
What video camera did you go with?
Rear view camera had a memory card error, so I just did a quick edit on this one and uploaded.
Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race) with NASA Great Lakes in June 2017.
I had never been to Pitt Race before and I qualified P2 even after running the test day. The track is great but we definitely showed up "under everything": under sprung, under tired, dead diff, etc. We dialed in the setup all weekend but didn't quite have it for Race 1.
In typical Bain Racing fashion, we showed up with well used tires hoping to run well. This was the 12th race on these tires and it showed.
AJ Hartman was on pole and hadn't run with NASA GL before. I was pointing at him to tighten it up and he was pointing at me to set the pace. Oops... Since we were so far back from our wave, I ended up with another wicked start. Once AJ ran me down, he was all over me like a cheap suit.
We lucked into a win after a long battle with AJ Hartman and knew we had to up our game for Sunday. Stay tuned for the R2 video!
Enjoy!

After a win on Saturday, we prepped the car and knew we needed more. We tweaked the setup and put sticker tires on for qual and picked up some time but still qualified P2 to AJ Hartman.
I got a good start but then missed a shift. Luckily, I recovered well, drove it hard into the next two corners and came out of T4 in P1. Between new tires and traffic, we were looking pretty good up front. Yellow flags heading into T16 helped as well and took away AJ's best runs.
Unfortunately, I started over driving T13 and it led to our DNF. On the bright side, the only damage appears to be a torn up brake duct.
We found enough speed by Sunday that we were able to reset AJ's day old record and it now stands at a 1:54.383. It's not as sweet as a win, but we'll take it!

I forgot to turn the cameras on until at least a lap in again. D'oh.
We found a setup we liked for Pitt Race last time out (650lb rear springs), so we left it on the car to see how it would do at Mid-Ohio. Practice and Qual were both shortened due to offs/crashes, 8 minutes a piece. So, we weren't sure how it would do once the tires actually came up to temp.
It was definitely a handful and we won't be trying that again. The spin is at approx. 18:30. Props to James Nichols for not hitting me when I ran out of talent.
Thanks, as always, to Ashley for letting me go play race car driver for the weekend and Dad for the invaluable prep and crew help.

Just did a short cut of the crash that caused R1 of the weekend to end up being two green flag laps. Driver of the Mustang was reported as OK, even though it was a hard hit.

As Kent Owens (CMC competitor and NASA GL Race Director) would say, another stupid human trick. I forgot to turn the camera on before the start for the umpteenth time this season.
So, you miss me almost stall the car on the standing start, dip the clutch, let it rev, and proceed to lay some railroad tracks while headed straight from 2nd to 4th before Turn One.
After that, the video starts and is pretty exciting. It includes one bitchin' pass to move up into 2nd place. The corner worker for T15 thought it was so cool, he had to come find me after the day was over. "It looked like you planned it!" Well, it was mostly reaction, but still awesome. Haha.
Enjoy!

Great vid!
That is a HECK of a pass you pulled off!!!

Haha, thanks. It's going in the highlight reel for sure!
For those that may not have time to watch the whole video, I chopped out the pass.

Great racing at Mid-Ohio a couple weeks ago.
The Saturday race was one of the best battles I can remember since I've been racing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1OX-yfEyG0
The Sunday race had an interesting start with a little 4-Off @ about 100mph action (just the start): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN5WtcsrWqk
Sunday full race. I use traffic to help let me run and hide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FUAgNMKqL8
I had some great racing at Autobahn Country Club a couple weeks ago. Start P2, move up to P1. Lose a drag race, back to P2. Ready to make moves on P1, double yellow comes out. One lap shootout, I fall to P3 after making a move on P1 with a few corners to go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlyuMH0AHAU
Also, I broke a carbon fiber driveshaft : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYV1ek4jKjo
Carbon fiber driveshafts are the least reliable race car parts I’ve ever seen. Cost us a few races, refuse to ever use them again. Not worth the weight savings.
With the amount of failures I’ve seen, I’d rather not run carbon.
Consider NASCAR cup cars do 200 all day long with steel driveshafts. Our TA2 car has a steel shaft, and it’s smooth at 170.
Get something nice from Mark Williams or Dynotech. It won’t vibrate. If you have a vibration it won’t be from one of their driveshafts.
