Ahh, nice looking toy. What are your plans for it?
One more thing, we don't do signature pictures here. Any chance you could remove that one for me? (please?) Thanks!!!! |

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) well, first it needs a tuneup, then brakes and tires, and then springs and shocks to get it off the ground. then i have to get all the random little things to 100%. but after that, ill probably go through the suspension first, doing something like a custom 9 inch and talking to sam for the rest of it. i hope to do some kind of lsx motor someday. all of this is just specualtion at this point as i am just graduating high school and getting ready to go to kettering in michigan for mechanical engineering. |

We have another member here who goes to Kettering (as I remember). Sounds like you'll be plenty busy between the car and school.

I used to go to Kettering, but that was back when it was still called GMI. They introduced the new name my last semester there. Good luck at the school and with the car, you're probably going to have to put one on hold to be successful at the other!

...and I went to Michigan State's college of engineering, back in 1994 & 1995!
We competed with GMI/Kettering for both internships and with our Formula SAE car. One warning: Formula SAE is highly addictive and will generally subtract one point from your overall GPA. I still live in Mid-Michigan. Look me up when you get here, and get involved with SAE with a student membership. |

So you're going to try and work on your car, SAE, school, and (most likely) the Firebird car club? FYI, Firebird is the school sponsored club that introduced me to autcrossing, they also have rallies, and a drag racing day or two each semester. Don't burn yourself out!
If you're not local to any college you go to, you wont have all of the resources you're used to. Like tools or someplace to work on the car whenever you want/need. Working on SAE (I did the Baja at NJIT, thanks to the help of FRRAX members) can get you access to some tools and friends local to the school. But most of Kettering's students were from out of state, about half I think. I'm not trying to talk you out of doing anything, just a bit of a reality check to avoid disappointment. |

...I'm not trying to talk you out of doing anything, just a bit of a reality check to avoid disappointment. no, right now im doing everything i can to get the car running perfectly. then i will be working to build up a cushion for when i do head out to college (not sure when yet). once at college, thats number one. mods will have to wait until after, unless for some reason it fits the circumstances. so mainly ill just be doing school and the co-op, and formula sae.
