I thought the later ones were vented. Yes they are. They changed the drive mechanism where it mounts to the cam as well but I forget if the 95 has the newer drive with venting or the older version. You absolutely need to make sure to get the correct one. In case all our current batch of opti changers are reading this thread, there is also a special seal in the timing cover that you will need to get from the dealer. You might be able to get away with reusing the old one, but its risky. Most dealers don't keep the seal in stock so check ahead. By the way, if the Chevy dealer doesnt have it, or if they tell you $13 bucks and it must be ordered (like my Chevy dealer did), try the Pontiac or the Cadillac dealer. Should be 8 bucks. Bock |

Also, the Optisparks are grouped by model year for f-bodies as follows: 93-94 and 95-97 so I assume that this is the "breakpoint" for the differences.
