All,
This is just a friendly reminder that we are holding our 3rd event of the year
at Gingerman on Monday, September 3. This is Labor Day, so hopefully most
people will have the day off. As of right now, we still have 44 spots
available. We will need to sell more spots within the next 2 weeks to keep this
event going. If you have questions, please let us know. Otherwise, if you are
planning on coming out, please register so we can keep the event on.

Thanks
3 Balls

$140, 4 run groups of 15 cars, ~2h track time. Pizza lunch provided.

I'm picking up a 1994 Z28 hardtop on Saturday. If I can get the tires/wheels and brakes sorted out I might come out. I've been running Gingerman this year in my 1985 Porsche 944 until I spun a rod bearing a couple weeks ago. I'm getting rid of the Porsche and getting back into American cars. If I can't get the car sorted for the track I will probably at least come down to check out some cars and get some ideas for my build.

Great, get busy with that car and get signed up! We need people!

This will be my first track day all year and I'm pumped. I've had a very long winter (car was in the garage until July).

Hoping to get an autox in before that to work the bugs out of the car. I did a lot of fabrication, and let just say that I'd rather test things out at 50 than 80. Gotta find one though.

Edit to add, welcome to FRRAX (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/bigok.gif)

I won't have the car "done", but if I can get the brakes done and get some new tires/wheels on the car I may sign up. I'm pressed for time though since I'm volunteering next weekend as a cornerworker at a VSCDA event at Grattan Raceway.

Depending if I get the car sorted a bit more (cooling issues) and if I have the free cash in the fun money account, I could possibly make that event. I'm not sure it's likely, but I'm looking into it.

Actually, I was thinking about coming down to Columbus for the for the 8/26 AutoX at Cooper Stadium. It is the closest event I can find between now and Labor Day.

Do these events fill up? Do I need to register in advance? How far in advance? Never done it before.

Don't mean to sound like a complete goober, but since I'm new to this, where is this track located? Also, does anyone have a list of the tracks and locatons so someone like me would know where to go? Thanks.

Gingerman is located in South Haven, MI. You can visit their website http://www.gingermanraceway.com/

A good list of tracks? The best way that I have found to figure out what tracks are is by going to the NASA website http://www.nasaproracing.com/, picking a region, and then looking at what track they go to.

Yes, registration in advance is a good idea. Otherwise, you need to be on site at about 6:45 am to make sure you can get in. If your driving very far to get here, I'd sign up in advance. www.ovr-scca.org and follow the links to register. I plan to run that one (still messing with the street tires I bought for Nashville, I'm not buying race rubber in this size since I'm going to be changing wheels once I quit playing with the rest of the car). We'll be making cooling system/radiator ducting changes and it's a good way to shake it all down.

Thanks, is a week in advance enough?

Watch, they close registration before the weekend. I think it's Thursday, but check me on that. A week should be fine.

Gingerman is a really nice track, the only place you can really get yourself in trouble is turn 11 onto the front straight, other than that there is lots of runoff room.

I'd do it but I plan on running Gingerman with NASA the week after so can't afford the trip out there for both.

Unfortunately it's not looking good for me right now. I would like to but I still have too many things to do with the car I'm afraid. The car will definitely be ready by spring, so I will be all over getting as much track time as possible next year.
