Hi Everyone. My name is Luke, I drive a 2001 WS6 that I've owned since 02. I have only gone autoXing once but plan on many more trips to the track this year. I am not interested in making my car a track only car, I'm more interested in having a well rounded Street/AutoX/Strip, the latter being the least of my priorities although it is fun. I don't mind sacrificing a lil to gain a lil when it comes to daily comfort and streetability. My first goal is to just learn how to drive the car on the track and then drive it well.
My Mods are as follows: UMI Poly LCA's UMI ADJ. PHB spherical UMI STB Sportline spring (front) Isolator delete (rear) Custom TQ Arm (still in the making stay tuned) 6sp swap ram HD, and RAM Billet Flywheel Mcleod ADJ Master Cyl Richmond 4.10's Custom 10bolt reinforcement BFG TA KD 275 40's (front) 315 35's (rear) not installed yet, waiting on new wheels C5 conversion (front) calipers at powdercoat as I type powerslot and hawk pads (rear) SLP Double Diamond SFC's Wolfe Racecraft 6pt Bolt in (welded) Full exhaust Long Tubes, QTP Y-pipe W/cats, Flowmaster cat back and a Electric cutout. Need to do bushing upgrades, swaybars, Adj shocks and would like to do full front suspension Well that's about it. You can see my heap at cardomain: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2952514 |

Welcome Luke! That's quite a list of mods! What sort of mod did you do to the 10 bolt? Got pix? What kind of springs do you have in the back? If memory serves the Eibach sportlines are lower than folks like for handling; folks like the Eibach Prokits. Did I get that right guys?

If memory serves the Eibach sportlines are lower than folks like for handling; folks like the Eibach Prokits. Did I get that right guys? Just running stock springs in the back. When I put the Sportlines on I lived in Germany and those spring combined with a Spohn chassis mount TQ Arm did not agree with the speed bumps and other raised areas in the road. So I ended up just running stock springs in the rear and then a few months ago I leveled the car out a little by removing the isolators and doing the heater hose mod. The TQ arm was removed and sold so I may actually put the Sportlines back in the rear and re-install the isolators. I know these are not the best for what I'm wanting to do but I like the low stance. If I can find a spring that is as low but maybe better suited for the track that would be great. Here is the 10 bolt reinforcement. This is not my idea, I saw this on the net and copied it. I'm mostly just trying to prolong the inevitable of 10bolt+MT ET streets+ 4.10's = bad joojoo (IMG:http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa253/speedyhawk101/DSCN2048.jpg) (IMG:http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa253/speedyhawk101/DSCN2050.jpg) (IMG:http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa253/speedyhawk101/i-dsc0105bn8.jpg) This post has been edited by speedyhawk101: Mar 15 2008, 04:49 AM |

Welcome! I like your pic on cardomain.....doing` the burnout with snow on the ground and a next to a "real" Christmas tree.
My buddy has an `02 just like yours except the wheels are different. It`s still the A4. I`d get rid of the poly LCAs. I went from poly LCAs to LG Motorsports Aluminum LCAs with QA1 rod ends. Gigantic difference. No bind. The rear is allowed to move and work. I also have a Spohn PHB w/ QA1s. The rear feels a lot more planted. And I don`t mind the little bit more harshness of the rod ends. |

It was an old runway with a 1/4mile strip set up on it. That was the Christams event, so that explains the Christmas Tree, and to tell you the truth I really don't think I've ever noticed that tree.LOL! They raced no matter the weather. That day happened to be snowing and icey. Good Times! I had a set of LCA "no name" cheapy's that had the spherical bearing rod ends and I took them off after about a month. Cobble stone and those things didn't agree. I may get a good set later on down the road, since I rarely drive the car anyway. After putting in the roll bar the car is a pain in the ass to get in and out of anyway, so what's one more annoyance gonna hurt. |
