Is there any interest in a GP on Canton products?

http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/

There have been some recent threads lately regarding oil systems, which Canton does very well. They also have a line of coolant and power steering tanks, and of course the Accusump.

Let me know with a reply in this thread, or if you don't want the other guys to know what you're up to, a PM or an email to ablaine (at) cruzio (dot) com, or call me at the shop 831 427-3296 evenings, every day.

I would definitely be interested. I will be needing the CMC legal 305 pan in the near future.
1982 - 1992 GM 5.0L Canton P/N 15-244T (1pc)

edit: most likely will order the pan, pump, pickup screen, pan gasket, pump drive shaft

Depending on how soon and how much, I need that pan too (1 piece seal and "old" m55hv pump).

ok... stupid question.
Can anyone be able to add this without having to change the oil pan/pump/etc. ?
Aren't all the oil lines internal to the pan/block ?

Add what? An Accusump? You just use an oil filter adaptor. It moves the filter down and lets you tap into the pressurized oil flow in the filter area to feed the sump, and it feeds back into the block the same way. It's not hard to hook up, it's a bit more difficult finding a place to mount the sump, but the plumbing isn't bad.

Yes, as Trackbird said, the Accusump is independant of the pan - For a while CMC allowed pan OR Accusump, and my preferred option was Accusump only with stock pan - lots of CMC cars are happy this way. Now the pan is allowed, too.

On the LS1 cars, some are going to a remote filter to avoid dropping the filter with a sandwich adapter. Canton has several options here. Do you have/plan on headers?

Good response so far - I'll let this go for about a week, and see what kind of discount I can leverage.

Thanks for your interest!

Eugenio has headers. It's a 510 RWHP LS2 package in that car. I forget what headers, but it has full length (Stainless Works?) headers on it.

With the adapter, I can see it happening, now... thanks.
I guess it's something like this: http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/store/oil_adapters.html
Yeah... I have a little ls2 stroker with headers... they are Kooks, 1-3/4" stepped to 1-7/8", fwiw.

I think this one is the one needed (after the filtering is done)
http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/cgi-bi...&key=22-541

I have an accusump system @ home that haven't installed... will look into it and see if I have all the needed hardware... and see where to mount it... once that is establish... whenever an oil change comes, I can plumb the 2 lines and I'm done.

That one is for the SBC, not LS1. LS motors have a smaller diameter filter boss. For a header install, I'm gonna recommend a remote filter to simplify and compact the plumbing at the block, and provide a port for the Accusump line.

I'm not sure that is a very good value. I've got a LS1 block at the shop, and some headers - I've got to get them on a stand, or dropped into my 4th gen mule, and see what the clearance is like at the filter. This kit lacks ports for an Accusump and/or gauge.

I'm working on putting together a package that will work on the LS1 with headers. Several folks have asked about that, and it's partly what prompted me to offer a GP.

Terrific! We just bought a 242T and adaptor a few weeks ago.

Story of my life ...

Take advantage of this offer. It doesn't happen very often

I'd probably be interested in a 15-242T and possibly a 22-702 depending on the discount...

The fact that I have a LS2 now shouldn't make a difference, should it ?
I can't recall if I have my stock LS1 oil pan or if it's a LS2 pan... if they are any different... but I think it's the original ls1 one.
I tapped above the filter as suggested on the other thread for a oil-pressure gauge.
