I've looked and can't find a class other than GT1. Basically, a stripped, caged, ESP-prepared 2000 Trans Am. I'm not putting the interior back in, so I'm basically screwed out of all the "stock-ish" classes. No IT either. And, if I'm reading the rules correctly, I'd have to do an engine swap for CMC. All that's left is GT1. And, in that class I'd be a rolling roadblock!

You ***could*** run ITE.....depending on your region....some regions like mine you would be perfect....others have "other ideas" about what ITE is about.....some have under 3 liter rules....some require the car to be a product of another race series prepped to "its" rules.....you have to call the regional office and ask...
GT1 won't float either..as you would be required to have a fuel cell....and it WOULD be a bad idea you are correct on that.... NASA has more "liberal" rules for a car like yours....you could run it in AI or AIX I would think just fine....the NASA boys can chime in.... |

No dice on ITE.
*caution = opinion approaching* SowDiv is all paranoid about fast cars on DOT Rs so ITE in Sowdiv (tx, la) is now 3 liters and under. No matter you can have a stupid fast turbo car...THAT is legal...but oh-NO on CMC or old SSGT cars...those are decidedly unsafe. So scca gets NO crossover from some NASA classes. So maybe ITE in SEdiv? <shrug> Costas cars and such... |

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif) .....I agree with ya 100%...the fast car in my region is a FREAKIN MITSUBISHI EVO that is damn near down to Super Production times....that is insane... Well, that's what I sorta figured.
The good news is that the local track (No Problem Raceway) structures its classes on the times a car runs, not its level of preparation. So, it's entirely conceivable to have a full race prep (engine swap, turbos, stripped, cage, body panels, etc.) running nose-to-tail with a stock Corvette. Sucky part is that I can't have fun at the Club race if it ever comes back out here. I'll just have to have fun on the qualifying days, I guess. Oh, and of course jion the NASA guys!! You'd fit right in American Iron with NASA.
