Registration for Autocrossers, Incorporated's first of six Championship events for 2006 is open at MyAutoEvents ( http://tinyurl.com/fm2uj ). The first event is Saturday April 15th at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Md., and entry is limited to the first 180 people that register. Prepayment of $30 is required.

If you're a novice or just a n00b, this would be the autocross you want to attend! Club members as well as other veteran autocrossers will be available for ride alongs and general tutoring throughout the day.

Of course, there are are several A.I. members who are also frrax.com members (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

We are also going to hand out trophies (in the form of pint glasses) to class winners and other trophy positions.

For more info, see http://www.autocrossersinc.net.

Only two weeks away!

We probably won't have the trophies in time, but we've gotten a title sponsor for this year, Strano Performance Parts. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Pat,

explain how AI works. What are the benefits to becoming a member?

I'll have to wait and see how much oil I will have after the Walnut Ridge Pro before I can commit to going at this point.

Benefits? Camaraderie. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Not to sound elitist or anything, but A.I. members are usually invited. We've turned people down who show up once and say, "I want to be a member." If that random person shows up again and again, then perhaps he/she might get an invite. We're mainly looking for people who show an interest in the club and attend most of our events. Must be willing to WORK at the autocross not doing the usual stuff (i.e., show up early -- help with setup, stay late -- help break things down).

We also have monthly meetings although they're not mandatory (never seen Sam at one (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ).

Pat,

I'm bummed that you guys are running June 17th instead of the 18th (I'm sure it couldn't be helped). I'd be "in town" on the 18th and was going to try to bum a ride (if it had been a Sunday event). I'll be on the road on Saturday and won't be able to make it out. Bummer, I was hoping to come meet you guys (and maybe borrow a seat).

We're probably running Saturday because of a conflict with another group or an Ironbirds game. I guess I should pay more attention at our meetings. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey, all you wafflers! Since we still aren't maxxed out (though close), we will accept a limited number of walkups on Saturday morning. But, if you want to ensure a spot, make sure you are there at the opening of registration. There's a lot of interest from the Subaru crowd, you want to make sure you get there early! I think this must have been a record for F Body owners who didn't drive an F Body! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Me: Sentra
Karen: Subaru
Brian: BMW
Sam: His car for 1-1/2 runs then BMW

Phil was the only one who drove *his* car for 5 runs!

sorry i couldn't make it (to have yet another f-body owner not driving an f-body), but I was working on the tire holders for my trailer. I got the beams up and 7 tires in the air, the car still fits under the rear beams so maybe tomorrow I will change back to street tires and put 7 more tires up in the air. That way I'll have room to mount the remaining e-tracks for the nitrogen bottle, gas grill, and tool box.

Hey, my black car was driven for 5 runs by a wanna-be F-body owner. That should count for something!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Not that I want my car to brake, but I've never autocrossed a BMW. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I hate BMW's ... they turn too good. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
