Will that hitch fit under the bumper cover of my T/A?

If so, how much is shipping to 78550?

It appears to be the same hitch I have on my car and based on that, it should clear a TA (It hangs low enough that I can't see any reason it wouldn't clear on a TA).

I dug around and found that etrailer.com lists a diffferent part# for the Camaro vs T/A, and the pic looks like I have the Camaro version. It also looks like it's a Draw-Tite, not Reese. I'm getting a T/A in the shop pretty soon, I'll see what the deal is with fitment.

Alan,

Sorry for the hi-jack.....but what is the media blasted hydro-formed frame behind the trailer hitch in the photo? Is it a C5 or C6 frame?

Maybe that's why mine hangs "low". I might have the TA version.....hmm.

Oh, now how did that sneak into the pic ;-) Factory C5 race kit - new in 2001, been sitting in a garage waiting for a commission. Want me to build it for you? Zero miles LS6, carbon body parts, Penskes, Tilton clutch, etc.

Photos have a mishmash of new and used body parts, the chassis/drivetrain is new.

Jeez, it took me nearly 5years to hold this hitch up to a Firebird. I don't think it's going to work, here's why:

Camaro rear bumper cover - about even with the chassis at the bottom of the spare tub:

(IMG:http://www.blainefabrication.com/projects/2011_10_16/IMG_4712.JPG)

Firebird T/A rear bumper cover, same view - it hangs down about 2 1/4" lower:

(IMG:http://www.blainefabrication.com/projects/2011_10_16/IMG_4710.JPG)

Here's the hitch - about 3 1/2" clear from mounting surface on the bottom of the frame rails to the top of the receiver tube - measure your Pontiac - if it is less than that it will push up on the bumper cover.

(IMG:http://www.blainefabrication.com/projects/2011_10_16/IMG_4717.JPG)

Still fits the Camaro.

And I still have that offroad pipe, too.
