While the trailer itself might not be covered, it's very possible the contents are under you home owners policy. My insurance company wouldn't even cover a trailer unless it is stored on my own property, so I'm unsure that your homeowner's insurance would be any better. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Update: I am extremely pleased that the trailer wasn't really stolen and genuinely impressed with the lengths that these people took to protect my property. That is great news! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Maybe people don't suck after all. No, plenty of people suck, but the important thing is that the people who suck didn't get your trailer, and that the marina people didn't suck. Update: As it turns out: There were some guys fooling around with the trailer trying to steal it and the marina staff got suspicious. They went and talked to these guys and correctly concluded that they were not the owners of the trailer. They ran them off and noticed that they just parked down the street waiting. So, instead of risking the trailer being stolen when they left for the day, they actually forklifted it to another lot at another location. I am extremely pleased that the trailer wasn't really stolen and genuinely impressed with the lengths that these people took to protect my property. Maybe people don't suck after all. DAMN, somebody is smiling on you! Time to find out who at the Marina took action and I see some free liquid refreshment delivery in your near future. Costas cars and such... |

Wow, congrats on renting storage space from people who actually give a shit!
Time to put some big ass chain through the wheels on each side and one of those big receiver locks. Make it so they'll really have to screw the trailer up if they want to get it that bad. |

But here is the real question... is the trailer still where it was fork lifted to?
I guess I really am a pessimist, but I would still buy the guy a beer for trying. |

Damn - Those marina people kick ass! Amazing that someone actually still cares about their job these days. So - Did you call your ins co, and get that $20/year insurance already?

Glad they had your trailer somewhere else but was thinking...wonder if the workers remembered what yard they moved it too and were they kind enough not to poke holes in the side of the trailer while using the fork lift.
that would be my luck....they should have called ya and not gotten you all in a tiff..... overall you are lucky! |

I dropped by the trailer on Friday evening. It was undamaged and intact. All parts and spares were in the trailer and other than the lack of a tongue lock, it is the same POS that it was before.
It is now in a fenced, locked area with video cameras. |

Wow...
Now, is this fenced area in the same yard? Just wondering why it wasnt there before. When I leave my trailer somewhere I usually put a tongue lock and a big orange plastic coated chain through one of the sets of wheels. Its kind of like my thoughts on car theft...mine doesnt need to be theft PROOF, just more inconvenient to steal than the next one. |

A lock won't stop a thief, but it'll keep an honest man honest.

No, the trailer is in a different lot that has a very high fence and video cameras. With the boats and yachts in the lot, I don't think a lil car hauler will get much attention there...
