I need to be ordering a few odds and ends that look like they will need to come through GM parts. Is there a vendor or contact this list uses for the best prices? I know over on corvetteforum there was a few dealers that offered discounts to forum members. And I know there is Gmpartsdirect. Just looking for other sources. I need to find a couple of the PNs I am after as well.

Thanks,
Jeff

I've used Dal a LOT and he generally gives really good pricing.

The problem is, he isn't the shipping department or even located anywhere near it. I ordered a left and right 1LE lower A Arm from VanDevere and got 2 lefts. Took FOREVER to get it sorted out.

Generally, I get Dal pricing plus shipping at my local GM parts dealer. They've been pretty good at pricing things for me really competitive.

I gotta echo Mitch on this one. I have been buying parts from Dal for several years and he is absolutely the man when it comes to dealing straight up and doing what he says BUT if you ever have a problem, it can get hairy.

I replaced the multifunction switch on my Suburban and it was a pricey part $200+ and a bitch to put in. Went bad one week later and I had to replace i t again. Now, a bad part is not Dal's fault. I returned it to Vandevere in July '06 per his instructions. I verified that he got it and then waited. One month went by and I email Dal and he says the Warranty guy has t to look at it. Another month, another month, another month. I emailed Dal once per month to remind him and finally he told me to call the Parts Manager direct -- 2 more months go by. My CC was credited 2 weeks ago for the part...... ummmmmmm, 7 months or so and I don't know how many emails and phone calls.

Dal is good with caveats mentioned by others.

My most recent big purchase was from Gale (above). Free shipping IIRC. He seems to know our cars pretty well.

I also order quite a bit from RockAuto which have most ACDelco parts, other aftermarket vendors, and some GM stuff. My local ACDelco parts house is not competitive with internet pricing.

My local Chevy dealer used to give me jobber pricing (I have 5 GM vehicles, soon to be 6), but they were bought out and don't seem to give a rats @## anymore. If you have a local dealer that has been around awhile, try negotiating with them. Also, Cadillac, and Pontiac dealers can get all the same parts as Chevy, sometimes I have luck at the Caddy dealer where the Pontiac and Chevy dealers fall short. I like to support the locals when I can.

When all else fails - GMpartsdirect works most of the time.

Very true, all GM parts depts can get any parts. They all have different prices and different terms though. The local Chevy charges more and has a return/restocking fee where the local Pontiac guys are better.
