Also looks like I bent/broke/twisted/f-ed up a rod in the process... related or not. All of my pistons have valve reliefs cut into the domes... #6's piston is almost upside down...

Anyone selling some sort of LS1/2/6/7/x short block? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I'd like to at least get it back on the track while I save up for my next monster motor...

Ouch!

And that's how motor builds get so expensive... "well for 100 bucks more I can upgrade this.. for 300 bucks more I can upgrade this.. for 600 bucks more I can upgrade this.. I'd hate for this to break and ruin my motor, better upgrade this also... Pretty soon you can't aford the motor you want.

Looks like stocker to me. I think on the LS2 stock one the links look a bit beefier.

I remember saying "Hmm, wonder if it's the timing chain". I was hoping I wasn't right (but we found out I was when we moved the motor).

That really sucks CJ.

Yeah, it's a stocker.. it was the only chain I could buy at the time. All the double rollers and such came out some time after.

Doesn't explain the rod however.

Unless there was enough slack, maybe when it broke, there had to be some massive detonation to slam the rod that hard..

*shrug*
