2001 Chevy Camaro Z28 Hardtop 6-Spd Manual, Arctic White, ~35k miles This is an original 1 owner car. I ordered the car in 2001 and it was used as a street car for roughly the first 20k miles. Then in 2003 it became a street/track car, and by May of 2003 I started it tracking it with the BMW club. It became track only in 2005 I believe. Basically, I made sure this car would be durable before it ever hit the track (hence the oil cooler, brake upgrades, etc.). The first few years it was tracked with a 6pt bolt-in cage and then in the winter of 2006 a full cage was fabricated. The car is very durable and has seen roughly 85 track days (Limerock, Summit Point, Jefferson Circuit, Shenendoah, Watkins Glen, Pocono, NJMP Thunderbolt, VIR). As you can see from the list of parts, I really only went with high quality parts with durability and performance in mind. Horsepower is approximately 430rwhp and weight is approximately 2900 lbs. I shaved weight just about everywhere I could (Lexan, LW clutch, pressure plate, body sealer, lightweight battery, stripped wiring, parking brake removal, tubular front bumper, etc.). The car is very tight with solid rod ends everywhere except for the shocks. The car has never been crashed, never seen snow/salt, and has only seen rain on a few occasions. I’m an engineer, as well as my mechanic/racer friend that helped with the build. The car was $25,000 and I’ve got over $27,000 in modifications without including labor, tires, brake pads, or other consumables, which would easily bring it up over $60,000 invested. I always put a focus on quality and having a plan before attacking something. I’m basically burnt out and between being recently married, a homeowner, and planning for a family, I’m contemplating selling the car. I’m scheduled for a track day at the end of October, but haven't been out in the car since Oct 2009. This will serve as a great track car for someone or with a few small additions could compete in NASA American Iron Extreme. I’ve included a few pictures below, but have many more. I’ve kept a full history of the car in pictures, covering nearly all modifications. I also have 90% of the receipts, etc. Prices paid are shown next to items (I’m not parting the car out at this time). Car is currently stored nicely in a garage with a fresh oil change. Park it in the corner, throw a cover over it and wait. If you still feel the same way in a year, sell it. If not, it's not eating anything and I have a feeling you'll talk about this car one day and wish you still had it sitting around. Just a hunch.

They said even if I only take it out a day or two a year. Of course my Mother would love for me to "grow up" and get rid of it! hehe |

That is a clean looking track car, i like it. You should keep it if you don't want to put that money into something else.

This must be what people mean when they say true beauty is on the inside!
Not that there is anything wrong w the outside, but that bright white, surgically clean, spartan interior looks awesome! Makes me want to go rip out my Z28's interior and put in a cage! I'm w these guys. Especially if your wife says keep it, throw a cover over it and keep it around. That car will get even more love 5, 10 and 20 years from now! |

Thanks for the comments guys. Those two interior shots are actually before the dash, seats, covers, etc. were put back in (as shown in the garage shot).
I'd like to keep it, but I'd also like the money. If I get back into the hobby, I'd enjoy building something else (some of the fun is in building it and passing cars on the track). For now, I'm furnishing a house, and enjoying my iRacing. This is the only place I posted it so far. I know I should put it on LS1Tech as well, but where else would you all suggest I post it? |

Awesome car. You'll regret selling it if you don't replace it with something sicker! Maybe a vette...(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

Corner Carvers I just posted it there. Although it says I'm "fresh meat" even though I've been a member there since 2005....but only have 5 posts there. I sent Adam a PM hoping that he will be ok with it. Yeah, the Fresh Meat label is based on post count. If you PM'ed Adam, you're probably good. |

Well I'm 'kind of' looking for a daily driver that I'm not bored with... I'll keep looking. I'll keep my ears open for you, but honestly most autocrossers won't be interested.

Yes, this is a trailer only vehicle. If I was picking up a fun street car, I'd be looking at used Elises and Solstice GXPs. |

QUOTE I’m basically burnt out and between being recently married, a homeowner, and planning for a family, I’m contemplating selling the car. That's how I am right now newly married with a new house-except my wife is unemployed. I'd hold onto it if you can. Park it in the corner, throw a cover over it and wait. If you still feel the same way in a year, sell it. If not, it's not eating anything and I have a feeling you'll talk about this car one day and wish you still had it sitting around. Just a hunch. That's exactly what I've done with mine. It's tempting to sell but in this economy it's hard selling a car. I know I would regret it in a couple of years when my cash situation isn't so tight. |

T2R in the axle??
That thing is WWAAAAYYYY too pretty to race (even though you did!). How, oh HOW did you keep it that sano/perfect???!!! I would buy it in less than a heartbeat if I could get anything for mine, but, like everyone else has stated so emphatically, I know you would REALLY miss this work of art once it's gone!! Did you ever run the SCCA auto-xes at E-Town in it's current form? If so, what class did they put you in, C/P?? |

No, I never got to the T2R, it's just a regular Torsen with beefed up axles, and a TA cover. I kept it nice because it was my......baby! I never AX'd it, only road race tracks. |

Wow that's a really nice looking car. If your wife says keep it you should take advantage of that and keep it. I'm only 18 so no wife for me, but if I ever even thought about selling my car my mom would likely try and sell it for me. I don't understand why she hates it so much...
Good luck selling it. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I'd like to move it out and consider picking up an Exige S in a few years. |

Will also consider trades with/towards 04+ Honda S2000 (blue, silver, or white) or 05+ Lotus Elise (Blue, Silver, White, or Chrome Orange). Needs to be streetable.
