FINALLY got all of the parts from LG to finish out the oil cooler. Took them a couple months but I got it. I got the thing installed after a little machining and parts chasing.

Question is, how did you route your cooler lines to keep things away from the pulley, alternator and steering knuckle. Its pretty cramped in there but so far the best way I found was through the hard lines for the power steering, just under the alternator.

Also, how did you figure out how much more oil to add to the motor now with the added capacity?

does the vent serve a purpose or is it something that can be discarded? I'd like to see those pics if I could.

Damn! Saw your post and thought, "Its about godamn time those oil cooler parts came in!" I'm in the same boat you were in... I've got the radiator installed for about three months now and consistantly get the same response from LGMotorsports everytime I call,"two more weeks."

So, I get real excited and give LGM a call. Still not available. Lou blames Earls for not supplying the fittings. Shit, Thats the same thing I heard three months ago. He said he didnt make a dime off of your cooler 'cause he had to pay a million dollars to buy the parts himself. He also said you nagged him so much he finally sent you something.

I call BS and will machine my own oil port adapter and get hoses from summit. What sucks is that I thought about buying the radiator direct from Howe and save a few $$$. But I specifically decided to purchase from LGM because he did the legwork to get Howe a design and could provide a complete oil cooler kit. I've got to remember to be less "ethical" and more cautious with my money next time.

I also paid Lou for all the fittings, but had to source a bunch of them myself.

No, what sucks is that to offer the hose kit and adapter at the reduced price of $300 we had to stick with Earl's supply. We have the billet adapters already to go , we just don't have the 120 degree fitting that we need to complete the sets.

I will be glad to ship you the billet adapter that we sell for $95 and refund you the remainder of the money for the hoses and fittings or $205.

there is no reason for us to BS you on this. Most people made their own hoses and just got the radiator and adapter from us.

Sorry for the confusion. We helpped Boyce out with our LAST fitting so he could go racing.

Let me know what you would like to do by emailing me at Lou@LGMotorsports.com and we will do whatever you want to do.

I'll admit I did nag the piss out of both Lou and Louis. I was getting dangerously close to race day and didnt have a cooler, desperate times called for desperate measures. I felt like an ass calling every day bugging the piss out of them and taking up thier time. It was enough that I am suprised that they didnt have a call block on my phone number.

I have the highest respect for LG Motorsports and all that they have achieved. If told to do something to my car by them, I would do it in a second. They are no-doubt top notch and they are always the team I root for on raceday. But, if they are going to remain a parts supplier for the after market, they must be willing to offer proper service. Or I guess, us as customers, if we are going to buy from them, we must be willing to deal with some possible inconvenience. I don't want this to be any kind of slam on them, so please don't take this to serious. I just keep thinking back to that K-mbr they were going to make for the last year and a half. I am still bummed that I can't get this part.

The main point of my response is that we should never have to feel like we are bothering the supplier. Unfortunately I sometimes do this too. The suppliers need to remember, we are the customer.

Hi guys,

Louis was very up front when the radiator in question was ordered. He was told that the hoses were not available and we didn't know when they would be, but we were working on it and would get them done asap. Earls had their own relocation issues and could not supply the parts, so we were at their mercy.

Why would we be at Earl's mercy? Because we already did a $20,000 buy in to get the good price with them and didn't want to have to do another buy in with another company. So we told radiator buyers the situation and we will get the hoses as soon as we can.

Things happen. But on the internet, one misque is taken as a company trait.

The K member is at the fab shop, getting jiged up but they are swamped just as we are. There is no "Fabricators forum" that I can get on and complain that they are not giving me fast service, so I willl wait, since they do the best work for us that is available out there.

We are a different kind of company. In addition to just being a middle man for other manufacturers, we try to come up with parts that are relevant to racing that can be used on the street. Most of you know that we have been around snice the early 90's making parts and racing the same cars that we make parts for. We will not supply parts that we thing are "Sub Standard" like some of the K members out there are or some of the suspension parts that fall apart. When we have other companies make parts for us, you can rest assured that they will build them the way we want, and up to racing quality or we won't use them.
How many times have you heard that Brand X suspension rattles because they won't use the high priced rod ends? We lived with the reputation that LG has high prices, because the comparisons were not of the same parts. Eventually the other companies coughed up for the good rod ends.

Ok, off the soap box.

Thanks
Lou G

PS,
the K member will be here by Christmas for the Xmas sale.

Hey Lou,

I know you probably don't wanna be pinned down on this since people can get all in a huff if you are off by 5 minutes or $5, but I have been wanting this crossmember since I saw the first draft pics on CamaroZ28.com.

Any estimate on when it can be ordered, and what the cost will be?

Thanks for all that you do,

Randy

p.s. Gotta work on those standing starts bud! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
