There is an autumn Mirrorkhana series being held by the Atlanta Region SCCA, starting 10/22. The registration for the first one is open, and I think the second one will open in the next few days.

It's limited to 64 entries, $50 entry fee. You get two "dial in" runs, which are used to "seed" you for a double-elimination bracket. Each pairing has a staggered start, based on index, and they've modified a couple of the PAX indices (especially some of the notoriously soft ones, like GS and ESP). Winner takes home $150, and payouts are through eighth place. There will be a series payout too, with the series winner getting an additional $150 and a free pass to Atlanta Region events for 2006.

Maybe Joel will chime in with additional info, or you can go to the SoloAtlanta page for some additional info.

I'm planning on going to the first two. Anyone else?

Wow. The only F-body there, and I qualified 2nd (behind a GS Mini Cooper S), made it to the final 4, and finished 3rd over all.

Anyone going to chance running against the girl at the next one on 10/29th? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Registration's open....

Cool, stop by and say hi! I'll either be driving my green car, or Jerry Grigg's red '96.

You slackers -- today's the last day to sign up; there is no walk-up registration. If you think you "don't have a chance," keep these things in mind :

1) The winner of the first event was the 17th overall qualifier. The second place finisher was the 7th qualifier.

2) With a drag style tree, redlights can and do happen, especially to the people who are really pushing the lights.

3) With no timer being on during the running of the brackets, cone penalties go from two seconds to DSQs! If the person you're running against cones, and you run clean, it doesn't matter how far back you finish -- you win. And since they are announcing in real time how close people are, and whether people are coning, if you have your radio on, you can know right away if your competition has handed you the win.

It's easier for those who aren't in the top of the PAX to finish well at a Mirrorkhana than at a regular event, especially because of #2 and #3.

I hope some people consider coming out tomorrow. It's gonna be fun. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
