OK it's Friday and I don't feel like doing much as work so I'll reply to something that bugs me. MFBA is a great club that rents Road America for open track events. The thing that gets me is this is "NOT RACING". Its open track, playing with cars. YOU ARE NOT RACING! Until you line up 2 wide and 10 rows or more deep and the starter throws the green and all hell breaks loose, you are STILL NOT RACING!
So we start out autocrossing in parking lots (that's called autocrossing), then we advance to high speed Time Trials on a real race track (that's call Time Trialing), then if you really want to spend lots of money, you go Wheel to Wheel, (and you're still not racing even though there are guys/gals on the track with you that are). After a few events or maybe even a few years you may be ready to RACE. That's when the green flys and you find yourself splitting the two cars in front of you because there is an extra 6 inches of room between their mirrors! NOW YOU'RE RACING.
