I need one Banjo bolt for the brake line to caliper and the 4 bolts that hold the 2 PAB (pad abutment brackets) to the spindles. Anyone have these things laying around?

I have 4 bolts that will fit. They are not OEM, but are rated metric 10.9. I bought a bunch from McMaster-Carr and don't need them anymore. I can send them to you if you tell me where to send.

I got a replacement banjo bolt from Fred Bean Chevrolet. They were the only people who wold sell me just the banjo bolt. All other source wanted to sell a kit with brakes line and sometimes the caliper as well. Saw a listing of banjo bolts in the new Pegasus catalog too. You might want to check them as a source.

The LS1 banjo bolt is an M10x1.00 bolt. I did price it at the dealer once, but got a good chuckle--special order and lose my shirt.

The same size M10x1.00 banjo bolt is commonly used on Japanese cars. I got a small bagful of these bolts at a local yard about a year ago (they wanted to give them to me for free, I gave them $5 anyways). The longest bolts I found came off Suzukis. I bet there are *a lot* of dead Suzuki Swifts and Geo Metros in your local junkyards. They all have the right bolts and they are well-made. ;-)

Before you laugh, they are actually *way nicer* than the stock LT1 bolts I took off during my brake conversion: better rolled/machined, better corrosion resistance, nicer chamfers and larger diameters on all the fluid passages, etc., etc.

There are other Japanese cars besides these that have the same thread banjo bolts, but I found that they tend to be shorter (e.g. Mazda). In a soft aluminum caliper housing, you want as much thread engagement as possible, or you'll strip the threads on the caliper.
