It's time for the THIRD ANNUAL NORA Fourth of July Autocross event!!

This year, the event will be held at Northfield Park

We have decided to change the format around a bit and invite up to 100 entrants and open it up to other clubs. The cost is $55. The event is capped at 100 people. Everyone must be pre registered and prepaid.

Northfield Park is located approximately 15 minutes North of Akron or South of Cleveland on Rt. 8. It has the size to allow us to set it up for a BIG course. Biggest we've had in a very very long time.

Northfield Park Racetrack
10705 Northfield Road
P.O. Box 374
Northfield, OH 44067

7:30 AM - Gates open and course opens for walking shortly after.

8:00 AM - Registration and Tech opens and closes at

9:15 AM - Registration Closed

9:30 AM - Tech closed

10:00 AM. First car off!

RUN-OFF FORMAT -- We will run a 3 heat format (Run, Work, Rest). Each heat will receive 6 runs. We will take a 30 minute break while the Top 10 drivers by PAX from each heat are sorted out to make up the final 30 drivers. The final 30 will receive 3 more runs.

ALL that attend will get an event t-shirt.

The top 10 places (By SCCA-defined PAX) receive cash prizes as follows...

1st $250
2nd $175
3rd $125
4th $100
5th $75
6th $50
7th $25
8th $25
9th $20
10th $20

There will also be over $250 worth of door prizes raffled off to some of the volunteer final heat workers. When you sign up to work the final heat, your name goes in the hat to be pulled by this year's overall winner . There will also be other door prizes for some of those that do not make the finals. Something for everyone!

And like years past, I would expect these prizes to increase as we get closer to the event Smile

Again, this is a Pre registration and Pre Pay only event. Please register online. Payment is available online also or a check can be mail to...

NORA
1057 Greenvale Ave.
Akron, OH 44313

Howdy,

Adding another event would probably not go over well at home. I'd try it anyway, except that PAX competition in an SM camaro is pretty silly.

Not that chance of winning is necessarily the most important thing here though.

Howdy,

Mark

Not sure, My car is pretty loud. Usually everybody gauges the sound in comparison to Eric's Corvette. If louder than Eric you are probably too loud. I am definitely louder than Eric. I'm sure that if the neighbors complain at our normal site (the east lake captains stadium) I'll get the boot. But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

They are sticking close to scca rules so I imagine that they will use those guidelines regarding sound too, should anyone complain. The Northfield Park Parking Lot is huge and there are no houses really close so I do not think it will be a problem. This is going to be the trial run for what may be an ongoing relationship for the next few years. If Nora moves their events here we can support 150-200 participants and national level designed courses. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif) Plus they have bathrooms and Bar/Restaurant on site for post event bench racing and braggin. Sounds like a really fun event and I think is a great idea. If I lived a couple hours closer, I would come.

Yeah it is going to be fun, if I go it is just for the practice as I'm very green at this parking lot stuff. Last weekend was my first outing this year and it was and adventure getting grip on all season street tires, and a limping clutch!

21 spots left!
