I've decided to mount a nitrogen tank on my trailer to use to fill tires. The best place I've found to mount the tank is behind the tongue box on the open trailer. If I mount it there, it will be horizontal. The counterman at Airgas told me the tank could output liquid if horizontal. I did not think that 2200psi was enough to keep nitrogen liquid at typical Alabama temperatures. Will it be appropriate to mount the tank horizontally?

Next question, how much line pressure do I need to inflate tires at a reasonable rate? He could only find a nitrogen regulator with a pressure of 40psi. I think that 40psi would be slow to inflate tires.

Tony - I think he's thinking low pressure LN2 - you would not fit much liquid in a tank that would fit on a trailer. My local welding supply shop got me a fixed 100psi regulator for my cyl, works great and is less vulnerable than a gauged regulator. Fills tires quick, runs a die grinder/riveter in a pinch.
