I'm curious, how do the american sedan cars (and others) fit the distributor in a 4th gen? I know they run the 1st gen SBC 305's. Does a small cap HEI fit back there? What kind of clearancing is an absolute must? must be a bear to get the cap/rotor on. I also would find it difficult to believe you can pull the distuributor w/ the engine still in the car.
some one enlighten me.

I'm pretty certain the firewall has to be modified for clearance, but don't have all the details.
