Made some changes to my cable access. I wuz being ripped!!!!
So, I had ALL their equipment removed and I now have basic cable services. But all their equipment included their boxes. So now I'm in the market for a stand-alone DVR and a hard disk/DVD recorder. I have a Pioneer unit at work and absolutely love it. So what's the brand/model to get these days? I'm also looking at NETFLIX ... anyone out there subscribe? Anyone use their wireless on-demand box? |

I'm also looking at NETFLIX ... anyone out there subscribe? Anyone use their wireless on-demand box? I use Netflix. Other than the wait between when you send off a DVD until you get the next, it works pretty well. Sometimes movies are scratched or dirty, but you run that risk wherever you rent. I dropped all my premium movie channels and I never go to the video store anymore. |

We started Netflix this past winter and I'm pretty sure they lost money on us for the first couple months. In most cases we'd get a DVD in the mail one day and have it in back in the mail the next. Now that it is summer time we might go through 1 DVD/ week, so we're not making out near as well but it is still cheaper and more convenient than renting. Having the play list is nice since I always forget what I want to watch. I recommend it.

If you have analog cable it's super easy, otherwise you need to be computer savy. |

Also with Netflix, if you have an XBox 360, you can download lots of movies and TV shows for immediate viewing. And, they're on your same Netflix subscription, so there's no additional charge. We just did this.
