I am curious about who here plans to be at Nashville? This will be my first NASA American Iron race and the first drive in my car and my first time at Nashville... Gee, that doesn't sound too good, does it? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Here is the planned track layout. Looks FAST.

I won't be there as you know Keith, but that track layout looks a lot like the Michigan Speedway road course that Track Time runs. Over a year ago with stock LT1 HP almost and street tires I was running almost 120 MPH at the end of the straight before Turn 1 into the infield. I'm sure I'd be at least 10 MPH faster now. That will be HELL on brakes. Make sure your ducting and fluid is in order.

I believe we now have 19 cars registered for AI. I figured that this would be a small event. I guess I was wrong.

As far as the brakes are concerned, I have nearly new Carbotechs all around (and a full backup set), have 2 liters of Castrol SRF to use for bleeding before I go down. I still need to buy backup sets of rotors and do something about brake ducts.

At Nashville, I would assume that the frontstraight speeds are going to exceed 130. In my old, stock Z28, I could get about 130 on the frontstraight at Beaver Run... I hope my 3.73's don't end up being a handicap.

VERY important, especially on a track like this.

cw or ccw for Nashville?

In the old days MI used to run CCW.

I'll be down there supporting a friend hoping to make new ones.

CW versus CCW. Gee, don't know. By looking at the track layout, I just assumed CCW. Maybe it's just my past interest in NASCAR that has my brain wired for that...
