ok so here i am i have my first real car and i cant wait to make it run . i am torn between staying stock for events that may happen, or stepping up and making my car scream! i thought that i would find weekly runs in my region to hone my skills but it looks like if you live in new england you have to trailer and stay! bummer! I'm going to work on making the car want i want it to be and if i get a few racecs in great. maybey i should lean to 1/4 mi.

I'll bet there will be some autocross events much closer to home once the sun comes back in a few months (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You might want to give it a try, find out if you like it, and then get a rulebook before you start modding (and bumping yourself to a class you won't be competitive in). Actually, that applies not matter what form of competition you choose to pursue.

What is it you want to do? Auto-X, open track events, wheel to wheel racing?

You get a car setup with an appropriate suspension, you could drive to any event within several hours of where you live. And if not seriously abused, it'd still be your daily driver.

You want to do wheel to wheel racing, then a trailer and tow vehicle are just the beginning of the added expense and upkeep.

Where abouts are in the New England area? I know of half a dozen people up in that area that open track their cars and they drive them to the tracks.
