I just found this site from a link over at corner-carvers.com.
I am going to start road racing this year. My local track is Summit Point in WV (No, I am NOT from WV. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) I currently drive a 97 SS. Not a whole lot done to it. C5 Front Brake Conversion (I bought the adapters etc from Chris at (RIP) Nashville Speed) KB Double Diamond Subs Hotchkis PHR (I removed the Hotchkis LCA cause the rearend "danced", stock stuff doesn't dance! wahoo!!) 4.10 gears Pro 5.0 Shifter Hotckis STB (which I am not real sure it even works) 1LE Driveshaft I plan on getting some shocks etc from Sam Strano (he has been very helpful in this department) I recognize same names here as well. Anyway..... Have a great day gang! |

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I grew up in Martinsburg, WV (15 minutes from Summit Point) and my wife (no she is not my sister) used to live on Summit Point road (just before the school after the 15 mph right hander, followed by the "S" curves at the end of a long straight, 3 miles or so from the track). I still have a couple teeth left even. Actually, I still consider Summit Point to be my "home track" even though it is nearly 400 miles away. My family still lives there and I always come home to attend the 12 hrs at the point (photos from last year are here at: http://home.columbus.rr.com/trackbirdsz28/12_hrs.htm I didn't have room to put them all up). If all goes well, I plan to try to make at least one FATT session this year. I'll let you guys know when I'm coming (so you can stay away), I'll be the black Z28 with Franklin County Ohio tags (parked backwards in the gravel trap)....Probably be easy to spot. As for your "dancing rear" with the hotchkiss LCA's. That is due to the binding of the poly bushings. Try a set of Heim/Heim or Heim/Poly (LG Motorsports has a nice set of the Poly/Heim LCA's) and you will be amazed at how the car feels (they will transmit some extra noise, but it is worth it). Have fun and stay safe! |

QUOTE (Doug 97SS @ Feb 15 2004, 02:10 PM) Hotckis STB (which I am not real sure it even works) Hi Doug, welcome aboard. I'm sure the STB in question helps a lot. Back when my car was a daily driver, that was the first mod I made - even before wheels/tires (it had the 16" combo). I honestly believe the Hotchkis STB tightened up the feel of the car in the corners more than the 17x9/275/40-17 combo did. Good luck! |

(Just so everyone knows, PF Flyer lives right up the road from me and is a very good friend of mine.) So Mike was DOES it mean? Performance Firebird Flyer??? |
