I have a ST 35mm solid front bar. Also have 2 front Koni SA's, but they are still on the car and I lack the technical prowress to remove them without killing myself.
How soon do you need such things and would you even consider the solid 35mm bar? |

Whoops, I should say a Koni DA. The other three I have are DA's. As for the bar, thanks for the offer, but I'll pick up a new hollow 35 if I can't find one used.

I have a slightly "customized" Strano hollow 35 I could sell.
My car is a caster freak, or was before the pot hole incident. At 4.5 caster everything was fine, but at 5.6 on the driver side (stock/lowered) all aftermarket bars were a tight fit where they pass the shock. Even when I pulled everything back to 5.2 it was still tight for anything other than a 1LE bar. I finally put my old heavy ST35 solid bar back on because it provided slightly more shock clearance. Most cars can't get nearly that much caster without aftermarket control arms, so fit shouldn't be a problem. HOWEVER, I did try to gain a little clearance by heating a small section of the side of the bar where it passes closest to the shock, and squashing it on a press. The torch wasn't big enough for the job, so I just barely achieved a very faint dull red in an area no bigger than a quarter, and didn't gain more than a millimeter of clearance if that on the press (not sure I budged it at all). Of course, there is some paint damage, but since the heated area is close to the end I don't think there would be a strength problem. I've hesitated to list this bar for sale in it's current form, but if you're interested I'm sure we could agree on a reasonable price (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) This post has been edited by sgarnett: Oct 27 2005, 12:27 PM |
