That should read PhilAdelphia ... :leaving:

I am running AV-MM for a seminar surrounding employee concerns in downtown Philly.

Myself and a co-worker will be arriving sometime the afternoon of the 27th, staying at the the Sheraton Society Hill and leaving the afternoon of the 2nd.

Anyone on here from there and want to meet for a beer?

Pat's or Geno's?

I'm in NJ about 45 minutes to an hour from there. What is AV-MM? I'd consider meeting up to trade F-bod RR stories and hear about the CMC factory!

There was once a band called "The CMC Music Factory". Club/Dance stuff from bartending days gone by.

I guess I'll have to catch you on the Mid-Ohio trip with Glenn.

Looks like we might have the beginnings of a "gathering" ...

At least it would be easy for me to remember your names ...

It appears that either Monday night the 27th or Wednesday night the 1st would work best for me ... looking this far out ...

According to my son, who spends most weekends in Philly, Pat's has great food, but parking and wait times can be problematic. However, as long as my schedule permits, I'm up for a gathering. keep me posted. I'm roughly 90 minutes from Philly.

Cool. Looks like something might work out! Tentatively either night would work out. I do have grad classes both Wed/Thur.....but I could skip it! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I just can't be out too late since I get up for work at 5am......

I should be able to make either night (I'm only 15 or so minutes away).

For anybody coming from Jersey, taking the PATCO Speed Line to 8th & Market is another option. For those not familiar, the Ferry Ave. stop and closer is Camden (and not recommended). Link

The only issue I MIGHT have with Monday evening is getting the room set for the Tuesday-Thursday conference.

Last fall, it was after 6pm before I was finished ...

Either Monday or Wednesday would work for me as long as I'm not on travel myself. I work until 4:00, so by the time I get home and then drive or take the train to Philly, it'd probably be 6:00. Any ideas where in Philly you would like to meet? Will you have a rental car?

I am sad to report that my evenings have been filled.

Seems as though the hotel has moved meeting rooms on me each day, so I have to strike one room and reset for the next day each evening.

Damn! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

1) How late?

2) Could you use a hand moving stuff?

3) Does the hotel's bar at least have hot wings?

I'm sure it does ...

Meeting ends at 5. It will probably take a couple hours to shuffle equipment and test.

None of it's heavy, just a lot of cables to move and train ...

Too bad, Dennis ...

The latest is ...

Monday, I get the room at 4pm to begin setting up. So it will be at least 8 before I'm done.

Tuesday now looks like it might be better as the group is having a "mixer" beginning at 5pm. I'm sure I could bail no later that 6pm.

Wednesday, I have to move locations so it could easily be 8 before I'm finished with that.

Thursday, I fly out.

Now my tentative work schedule is that I will be in Aberdeen, MD both this week and part of next. I'll see, it is about the same distance from home, it'd be possible still. Are you still planning on meeting up with anyone else?

I can make Tuesday, at pretty much any time, so count me in. If the plan still includes Pat's or other travel, the slow STS car has room for three passengers. I've never been to that particular Pat's myself, but it can't be that hard to find.

Pat's website is http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/

I think this link will pull up Mapquest's road map of the area.

At this point, I can't commit to anything ...

The agenda for this conference is a living and breathing entity.

Tuesday all day is a single room with 2 projectors daisy chained.

First session Wednesday is a split room. So, I'll have to set the room for Wednesday's presentation Tuesday night and test and then tear it down for storage.

This boon-doggle is turning into work ...

Bummer. We'll have to try again another time. I'm leaving for MD again tomorrow morning, but without having access to a computer most of the day while down there it will be hard to meet up without knowing any definite plans. I had some of those Cheesesteaks a few weeks ago....yummmm! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I know it's a haul for you guys and that's why I hate to set something up.

I know that tomorrow night (Monday) is out. Other evening plans have already been made for me, unless you come to me.

Tuesday seems to be completely out of control, but possible.

And Wednesday might be a possibility.

I fly back to the promised land on Thursday.

Same here. If by any chance something gets me down to the DFW area in general or the Comanche Peak station in particular I'll look you up.

If I can swing it I'd like to make one of the two Pocono dates that I know about. The Solo schedule is pretty light at this point.
