That guy is nuts! I too though he was caught or dead. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
Sad thing is that sometday he's going to make a mistake an innocent bystanders will die or get seriously hurt as a result. |

Wasn't it interesting that the M Coupe just "happened" to exit, drive by and stop where there were stationary cameras rolling tape ...

I watched that a few months ago. I thought it was rather odd, and unsure what the purpose was and who was really riding and driving?

They really arent going that fast. And the bike is weak sauce at best. Most of the time when he has it pinned it was hovering right around 200kph (120mph) and had a hard time getting over that. I think I saw it hit about 235 once and that was when he had it absolutely nailed back. They also list the M coupe with a top speed of 285kph at the begining of the video........with a JATO on it, maybe.
I do like the M coupe though. One of my neighbors has one and he keeps talking about how it would walk my camaro from a 50 roll to however fast I want to take it. I just let him live his little fantasy. I would hate to be the one that puts him in therapy for the rest of his life. |

So I looked up the power and weight of the M coupe and Camaro SS from the last year they were built. M Coupe: Weight: 3141 pounds Power: 315 hp Weight to power ratio: 9.97:1 Camaro SS: Weight: 3306 pounds Power: 325 hp Weight to power ratio: 10.17:1 Pretty evenly matched. Of course you can get gobs of power out of an LS1 with little money or effort. You can spend gobs of money on an S54 getting a little more power. By the way, that might be a Z3 coupe in that video. I spent a minute watching trying to determine if it was an M or not, then got terribly bored. Jason |

Mine is now at 3100lbs and the old motor was pushing 550hp. It would be like squashing a butterfly with a sledgehammer. Thats why I let my neighbor live his little fantasy. New motor will be closer to 650. The coupe is a nice car though. I wouldnt mind having one. |

Waited 15 minutes for money shot, but no money shot??!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant2.gif) I wanted to see someone cartwheel spectacularly into the trees.
I doubt the guy in the BMW is a "professional driver" unless they have delivery pizza on the other side of the pond. I don't think a "professional driver" (racer, instructor, stunt driver etc) would risk his life driving for 15 minutes through traffic like that just to be a star on the intraweb. Be a real man, take the challenge to the track or closed course. I liked the Porsche vs. race bike at Donnington better (or was it Brands Hatch? ... some British racetrack). Pat |

I too, was waiting for the "money shot". Judging by the subtitle I thought the coupe was going to crash, so kids can learn pulling a stunt like that on the street is just dumb. But, he lives (for now).
The routes are predetermined, as Dennis pointed out. Aria |

THAT one definitely exceeds my risk versus reward ratio.

Every time he comes over I ask when he wants to run them and if we should make it "interesting". He just says "there is no way that camaro will beat my coupe, not from a dig and definately not from a roll" and he leaves it at that. One time I asked him what color the sky was on his planet, but I don't think he got it.

how come that in 15minutes there were not even 1 backup cop to intervene ?
Also, if this was to be a REAL pursuit, the cop put himself @ danger unnecesarily several times, getting too close, knowing that the BMW wasn't stopping. All the BMW driver had to do is tip him off when the bike went to his blind spots or slam the brakes when being tailgated... that would have ended the pursuit with a minor scratch. This seems too planned, especially w/ more than once a camera man waiting for them. Gotta give driving knowledge to the BMW driver, though... as well as stipidity award... I wish Darwin had prevailed on this one. |
