Hi all,
In the process of adding some safety stuff to the ORR car. I want to add a fuel pump cut off switch, where is the best place to tap the + line to add a toggle in the center part of the dash? Also, I was looking for a spot to mount the Actuator handle for the fire system and many of you recommended the A pillar area in previous threads so the Safety folks could access it through the window. I got to thinking if I have an 'event' that requires the fire system to be actuated, an armadillo or a rattlesnake are going to be the closest living beings to me. Chances are any course workers are going to be many, many minutes away. I think I will mount it in the center dash area as well so the navigator (if present) can get to it. |

Andy - I agree that for ORR with a navigator you want equal access by both drv and nav, so center mount for both cutoff and fire pull is good. If you wanted to cover all bases, get a fire system that will accomodate a second pull handle, and mount them on the A pillars so both drv/nav and outside help can get to them. For fuel cut you could wire 2 switches in series.
FP relay on LT1 cars is behind the drv side kick panel, by the dead pedal. |

I removed the head unit, amp and subs the kids insisted on having in there. Hell, you can't hear the stereo anyway with the open exhausts. It is real tempting to start stripping some stuff out -- the car is headed towards single purpose racer more every day. The scanner is going in the dash and both GPS's are going on permanent, screw in mounts. |
