Heck, compared to the cost of building, equipping (to a tiny fraction of the capabilities of that shop), powering, and possibly heating/cooling a shop, that's not such a bad price. $1100 per year (or even $30 for a day) for access to a lift, chassis dyno, real machine shop tools (not Harbor Freight mini junk) is a bargain. Throw in the fact that you don't have to drop a stack of bills when you need some special tool for a specific task, and it's a steal. I don't think I'd want to build a full tube chassis there, though. I assume you have to be able to cart everything away when you roll out at midnight. I never really lived there, but was stuck in silicon valley for 9 months in the early 90s to manage a vendor. Now I want to go back (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) OK family, guess where we're going on for a vacation (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

It's a 1/2hr drive to silicon valley, but 5min to the beach. ;-) |
