There have been several discussions regarding tire presure for autocross events on the board, but little mention relating to tire pressures for street tires at a HPDE.

Track: Road America
Temps: 50's/60's
Tires: Kumho Ecsta MX

So what would you say is a good starting point?

I'd say around 40psi. I ran an autocross with speeds near 85 on MX's. I marked the tires with a grease pen to see what kind of rollover I was having. At 40, I was wearing just to the edge of the tread. These tires just don't have the grip to roll over too far; they slide first.
