We'll be in Flat Rock, MI to try our hand at 24 hour endurance racing this weekend. Is anyone planning to come out to attend/visit/laugh at our misfortune? We're running a 1985 Toyota Celica-Supra (first generation, they were hyphenated) and it is a truly spectacular machine, you should all come out to bask in its splendor. I talked to my buddy this AM and he said that a White Clelica with a FRRAX sticker won. He said it was a blast. I'm sure you remember the olds achieva. He said that they were knocking down the best lap times but DNF'd due to mechanical probs. Yea, I only brought one decal for the bumper, but that was taken. I should have brought a few extras... We won the race (by about 45 laps) and we beat Car and Driver!!!! Congrats, that's excellent!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif) My friends with the E30 BMW weren't so fortunate, they went in for a driver change and the car wouldn't fire, it turns out they had a problem with the Motronic or some relays. They vowed to go back next year though. I'm even thinking about getting together with some friends to field a team next year, it sounds like an absolute blast! I met them. Great guys, bad luck. They wound up driving the 5 series of the team next to them I think. I wound up helping a team of college kids with a 1991 Camaro (TBI/5speed). We got their tire pressures fixed, corrected their overheating/temp issues (the panel that "blew down" on my car, was dragging under theirs), then they bent the tie rod attachment points on both spindles, and we cut and sectioned the tie rods and welded them back together so we could get the toe back to something normal and put them back out. It was a riot!!!! Oh, and 24 hours is a long, long time..... |
