For those that have the 36mm offset ZR1 wheels could you please do me a big favor, I need to see how much room if any there is between the stoptech brake caliper and the back of the spoke on these wheels by using this fitmitment guide from Stoptech?
http://www.stoptech.com/wheelfitchart/PDF/camaro.pdf I contacted AFS and they basically told me they wouldn't check. Said they built them to clear the stock calipers, duh no kidding. I even sent the exact link above to tell me if they would fit and said they would not be able to tell for me (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I would really appreciate it very much if someone could do this for me!!! I'd even send a few bucks your way for doing this as well (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Yes. Sticking that hub center piece in the middle gives you more than the 2mm required clearance by the StopTech's, according to the 9.5x36mm I have sitting in my room.
Hope this helps (I'd get someone else to check too, though). Dan [EDIT] Erm. Um. didn't notice hashed areas...cutting them now. OK. Having cut out the hashed areas... it'd be really close. It's hard to tell, because to fit the indent in the lug hole puts the caliper measurement in a hollow of the vane, so it's hard to get both working at once. But in addition, there's that pointy thing right above the lug hole extension, and that is clearly hitting the hub of the wheel. So if that's accurate... then no, the inside of the caliper will hit the wheel. You'd need a bit of a spacer. Sorry dude (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) [/EDIT] [EDIT 2]In this image from StopTech's site: (IMG:http://www.stoptech.com/wheelfitchart/instructions/temp1.jpg) They haven't cut out the lug spacer thingie - you can see how that rectangle is sitting right next to a lug hole. So what's the proper method? Let me know, and I can get you a proper measurement.[/EDIT 2] |
