I've seen a couple early 90's Impreza's going for $1-2K and was wondering if getting one like that and playing around in a stock class would be a good idea. Ofcourse, stuff like suspension components need to be replaced with stock replacement parts, but I'm figuring it'll be cheap and fun ... what ya'll think?

I've seriously kicked around the idea the past couple years of finding a mid-90s 2.2L Impreza and autocrossing it in stock. They run in the slowest stock class (H Stock), which is really diverse and a good "momentum car" class. Just get some decent shocks, spare wheels, r-compound tires and go!
