I've seen LS1 cars in service in Georgia and I think one of the Carolinas as well. They do like their Camaros for chasing down speeders.

I've seen LS1 cars in service in Georgia and I think one of the Carolinas as well. They do like their Camaros for chasing down speeders. Seen them in CA too..but not in a while. Florida (FHP) has a bunch (probably 200) of the Camaro LS1 cars (B4C?)...and a bunch of big Tahoes as well. They traded their old Mushtang 5.0 in on the Camaros. I guess the reasoning is they get paid so crappy, they might as well have a nice car. Locals (city and sheriff) seem to like the Crown Vics. The local sheriff here just bought some Chrysler hemi stuff too. The Vette photo may be photoshopped, but a lot of departments actually do get these (and other cool cars) from drug seizures. Some of the local departments keep them (rather than auctioning them), paint them up to do parades and other PR stuff. Bock |
