Alan,
I need a new cage also. But I am unable to get the car to California. I have an Idea, granted, I do not know how many people you employ, but here is my speil. Make roll cage kits for third and fourth gen cars for those of us who are not close. As you are working on a cage, make a template (unless you all ready have some). As of right now, I have the old Autopower bolt-in cage, and it needs a serious update. Just a thought. Do you think it is a good idea, or am I stretching here? Thanks, Todd |

I don't mean to undercut Alan, but aren't there circle track shops in Rockford? They should have all the equipment to build a cage for you if you want a custom one.
Or, you can just get your Autopower cage added on. I believe JB's car has an updated Autopower. The other thing is, you still have HPDEs to go through, so your Autopower is plenty legal the way it is. |

So the motivation of the idea is to get Alan's thoughts to see if it would be feasable later this year. I have all ready talked to Lefthander in Rockton, Race Car Help in Janesville, and Advanced Autosport here in Beloit. For different reasons the stock car guys are not interested, or want five to ten customers more to do it. AA is neck deep in Miatas now. What is funny is Leftander all ready makes a cage kit for Fox Bodied Mustangs. This came about from the American Short Tracker Class that ran at Rockford Speedway. This class was for 4 cyl. powered cars, and 90 percent of the cars used were Mustangs. Kind of like how the Monte Carlo is primarily used for Hobby Stock type classes around here. I should update with the goings on with my Camaro. Just need to buy the caliper saddles, make the brackets, and the master cylinder for a 98 F-body and my front brake conversion will be done. I just started to tear down the 79 305 to get ready for the prep for the new build. |
