Alan,
I need a new cage also. But I am unable to get the car to California. I have an Idea, granted, I do not know how many people you employ, but here is my speil. Make roll cage kits for third and fourth gen cars for those of us who are not close. As you are working on a cage, make a template (unless you all ready have some). As of right now, I have the old Autopower bolt-in cage, and it needs a serious update. Just a thought. Do you think it is a good idea, or am I stretching here? Thanks, Todd |

Thanks, Todd Todd - Yes, I have bent up several 4th gen cage kits - some for some folks on this board. I use my bend templates, and then check fit on a 4th gen roller that I have at the shop. The kits are custom made to the customers application, typically include a main hoop, APillars, and sometimes the windshield bar and door bars. I can also include lengths of straight tubing and plate steel for pads. I bundle the stuff up and ship it Greyhound. It takes a pretty serious DIY to finish what I've started - all the tube ends need to be fitted, and welded properly, so my customers typically will have a fabricator assist with the the final build. The advantage with a Blaine Fab cage kit is the custom fit that I have achieved after years of specializing in race prepping Fbods. I also provide phone and email assistance with the customers final build. Something else I've considered, but haven't advertised yet, is offering a completely welded custom 4pt rollbar that is ready to drop in a car and weld in place. I can make them fit with or without the rear sail panels, put the harness bar at the proper height for the seats, retain carpet, headliner, and functional OEM seatbelts and rear view mirror. Rear seat has to go, tho. I've done several in house, powder coated turn key, but with my shop mule I can fab them up and ship via truck freight. |

I am in the process of changing my web host so the best e-mail to use is dilnderfamily@sbcglobal.net, or use PM. Thank you. |
