Well, talk about "Welcome to last week !".......
I started watching the show Set Up on Speed and low and behold saw where the autocross community is being represented by Mike this season .......and, if I heard them correctly, has won 2 out of 3 of the events he has been in thus far. Even better; Mike won this particular race I was watching and a crew chief of another driver boasted that if his driver would have had a few more laps that he could have easily taken Mike ~ the hosts asked Mike if he felt that would have been the case and he confidently said "no". More words were said and before you know it the hosts had just these two boys on the track to race ~ telling the other guy that if he couldn't beat Mike that he would be out. Long story short; Mike won, the other guy wasn't kicked off but his crew chief was besically told to not to be so arrogant, as it could cost his driver next time Congratz to Mike ! BTW What form of racing GIVES the guy who got punted a new ride and takes the guy who punted him out of the race? Local circle tracks will put a guy to the back of the field if he does what JR did but they don't give the guy with a broken car the guys car who punted him! That's the only BS I could see in that whole deal.
Honestly I can understand what he did and probably would have done the same thing. It's pass or be passed, granted waiting a tad longer to make the move would have been better but the producers put all this BS in your head and $100K in front of you, what do they REALLY WANT? Bret |

Bret I will say it again. Mike WAS DONE the minute he "chose poorly" and over drove the car in that instance. Period....end of story. ANY "form of racing"....assuming of course we are not talking about a trumped up show such as this or NECKCAR series....would have DQ'd them man RIGHT THEN AND THERE. Therefore the disposition of his car was a mute point! Yes, giving it to the other guy was a big showy, dramatic mess....but it HAD NO BEARING on what the outcome would have been to Mike in any legitimate "form of racing" (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) This post has been edited by rmackintosh: Apr 14 2008, 07:09 PM |
