Mitch's idea is a good one. Find one that suction cups to the windshield.

I think your navigator can hold one. I run two GPS's and my navigator holds his GPS. The GPS I read is in a mount that is vecro'd to the dash near the pillar and all it displays is current speed and average speed. I let the navigator tell me the rest of the poop.

A helpful hint. Take a stop watch and program it as a countdown clock. Attach it so you can read it easily. Start it as the Christmas tree goes green and as you get near the finish line (quarter mile or so out) run off of it as it counts toward zero.
