I bought my 3rd gen at 60k and put rear shoes on it (made me feel better) and at 158k they still had most of the shoes left. The adjusters just don't work. I rebuilt/cleaned them a few times. I'd adjust the brakes, they'd be better for a day or so and back to "normal". But, even so, I'm sure they did something.
