I'd like to get some weight of the nose of my car, so I'm actively looking for an OEM Camaro SS hood ('98 and up only, and MUST BE THE FACTORY HOOD, not aftermarket). I'm willing to drive a bit to get it. Would prefer it not be all cracked up. White would be GREAT, but beggars can't be choosers. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Please let me know if you have such a thing, or know of one in the Northeast/Mid-atlantic/Mid-west area. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Did anyone ever get an accurate weight on the stock vs. SS hoods? Thanks! Mark I weighed one each last nite - both are from LS1 cars, and have no striker/latch/strut brackets/hinges/hardware, ie bare naked, cept the steel hood has the sound insulation = mebbe a couple of ounces. LS1 SS hood = 50# surprized? I'm pretty sure it's an OEM. It has made in Canada, and a patent # molded in, and CHD11166 carved by hand LS1 Z28 hood = 48# Both hoods are available, steel hood has good paint but a couple of dents. SS hood is rough - it's all there but needs some fill/crack repair and paint. |

WOW I didn't see that coming I would have though the SS would be lighter, I guess I'll strike that from future upgrades! |
