Hello all, just wanted to share a few more pictures of my trailer I plan on using for auto-x events and open track days. This particular trailer started life as a small boat trailer. I shortened it, relocated the axle, placed the axle above the springs to lower the trailer, added some brackets and such to mount the box, tires, and a place to mount our canopy. The trailer was also completely re-wired with new lights, and the wiring was ran inside PVC tubing to protect it from damage from foreign objects and UV rays from the sun.
I don't have the spare tire mounted yet(there is a post for it on the tongue you can see) and I have not painted the fenders yet. Otherwise the trailer is complete and works quite well. I've pulled it up to 75mph and it pulls straight and does not bounce. Here are a few more pictures of the trailer. Trailer looks nice. How does it pull? Seems like there's not too much tongue weight. No trailer wag?
On a related note, for those who are interested in pulling trailers with their cars, I have a hitch off my '96 Z28 for sale if anyone's interested. |
