-->Traded it for a Yamaha R6

Looking to sell my black Z28 coupe. I'm the second owner, it's got a lot of new stuff, it gets great gas mileage, and is fun as hell. It is currently in great running condition, suitable for daily driving, with most of the interior parts removed. I have a company car and gas card for daily use, so the plan was to turn this into a track car, but I found a different already-built car locally that I want. This car has never been on a track though, nor a drag-strip. It's only been Autocrossed twice.

I bought the car in August 2006 from the first owner in Virginia bone stock. Registered and kept the car in Wisconsin for 3 months, then drove it to California, where it passed the emissions tests with flying colors. I think the mileage was around 143,000 when I bought it 2+ years ago, and it has 149,500 on it now. Have receipts with mileage/dates of 146,658/3-27-07 and 148,763/8-10-08.

I'm listing it on a few other Camaro/AutoX forums first, then Craigslist and so on. Email me at valeracing at gmail dot com or call me. -Chris

Pros:

Only 2 owners
New tires Hankook Ventus RS2's with less than 1,000 miles on stock wheels [paid $670 5/08].
New upgraded MSD opti-spark cap and rotor
-The Opti on the car now is new, and is the upgraded vented design that should last a long time.
New GM water pump [has stainless steel nipples unlike cheap Autozone water pump]
New upper/lower radiator hoses
Pretty new Optima red-top battery [paid $170 11/06, still under 36 month full replacement warranty]
New fluids, all Redline full synthetic [oil/power steering/transmission/differential]
New ATE slotted front rotors with Hawk HP+ pads on front and back
New rear bump stops
New tie-rod ends
New 160 degree thermostat
New fuel filter

Cons:

Nuisance oil leak
The check valve in the fuel pump is bad, so it takes a few cranks to start. I have two working used fuel pumps (the one in the car is a 2 year old Autozone one that I put in even though it didn't need it) and there is an access hatch already cut out to get to the fuel pump, I just haven't had time to put the original one back in.
Drivers side mirror is broken, has a usable temporary mirror stuck in place.
Front lower control arm bushings are worn, and should be replaced at some point. There is no play [the hubs are good], and there is no way to notice from inside the car, but they are worn. I found out when I went to get the car aligned.
Cosmetic damage from break-in. Drivers side door lock is missing, there is a chunk of paint missing from the passenger side door, and the rear latch lock is chewed up. I included pics below.
Little interior problems. The seat is worn on the side from the seatbelt, but has been patched with fabric glue. The glove box latch is broken, the center console lid has a broken hinge (but it still sits flush and in place), and the window control for the drivers side door is glued in. This stuff does not effect the drivability of the car at all, and I don't even notice it.
Random scratches and scuff marks. Looks great for its' age though. A 3am infomercial product could probably get rid of the scratches, a claybar-polish-wax treatment got rid of them for a bit but they returned.
Gas gauge reads about 1/4 tank too high, I found out about this the hard way. Only once though.
Low coolant sensor goes off every few months, even though the coolant level is fine. I looked it up, and I guess that's a common problem with this car.
Never put any speed-bleeders in, haha (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

Bonus:
New K&N air filter in the stock airbox.
GM 1LE new intake elbow [GM part from the police package].
New ATE super blue DOT 4 brake fluid.
Throttle body coolant bypass.
Interior panels and carpet rear of the front seats are removed. If you want to carry around the kids and a dog, I have the full interior and all the fasteners, and will put it all back together for $100/hour. It would definitely need a new headliner though.

Ton of pics that I snapped on Sunday:

haha, this car would definitely make it to Texas. I drove this thing from VA to WI, then to CA all within a few months of buying it, and it's only in better shape now.

It stopped starting immediately after cranking it this summer, so I freaked out and had the MSD opti put in, along with the waterpump (old one was leaking). Well, it still wouldn't start like it used to, so Mr. Blaine so kindly hooked up a fuel pressure gauge, and it turns out that when the car shuts off, it doesn't hold fuel pressure worth a hoot. So I'm technically guessing that it's the check valve in the fuel pump. I bought an Autozone one when I went to replace it right after getting the car, and from what I now know I feel that it's not as good as the GM ones, so it doesn't surprise me if it has failed already in 2 years.

If you're planning on driving it, I don't think all the interior pieces will fit flat in the back, and I don't know what you'd want to do about the headliner, since the cloth is starting to peel away from the foam. But if you want to track it, there's a dumpster 100 feet away!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

And the gas gauge works, but reads 115% when it's full, and lies once it gets close to the bottom. I never tested it again after my first day owning the car (funny story, maybe I'll type it up in a bit), but I fill it up every time I think it has 1/2 a tank, and would stop every 250 miles or so when driving it across the country. Might add a bit to the trip if you're used to driving something w/ a huge gas tank. I saved most of my gas receipts from the drive, and it looks like the most I ever put in was 15 gallons after going 304 miles.
