I understand the need to do this, but I hope they dive back in to the performance vehicle segment when/if GM is healthy again.

There was about a 10 year stint, beginning in 72 or 73 where the auto-makers built boring cars. then there was about 20 years plus of ever improving "fun".
Are we at the end of an era? Probably.
