As for DVR you can always build on yourself using http://www.mythtv.org/ .... I haven't used it but have buddies that still use it and love it i just havent had enough time to try it yet.

I built my own Sage TV server (www.sagetv.com) years ago and I love it. If you have analog cable it's super easy, otherwise you need to be computer savy.

So, I had ALL their equipment removed and I now have basic cable services. But all their equipment included their boxes. So now I'm in the market for a stand-alone DVR and a hard disk/DVD recorder. I have a Pioneer unit at work and absolutely love it. So what's the brand/model to get these days? I'm also looking at NETFLIX ... anyone out there subscribe? Anyone use their wireless on-demand box?
