I'd like to get some weight of the nose of my car, so I'm actively looking for an OEM Camaro SS hood ('98 and up only, and MUST BE THE FACTORY HOOD, not aftermarket). I'm willing to drive a bit to get it. Would prefer it not be all cracked up. White would be GREAT, but beggars can't be choosers. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Please let me know if you have such a thing, or know of one in the Northeast/Mid-atlantic/Mid-west area. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Hey Alan,
Was that the white hood? That wasn't OEM. We weighted Casey's '98 SS hood with the front latch hardware and no hinges at 45 lbs. Jason S. This post has been edited by Unbalanced Engineering: Sep 29 2009, 07:48 PM |

Hey Alan, Was that the white hood? That wasn't OEM. We weighted Casey's '98 SS hood with the front latch hardware and no hinges at 45 lbs. Jason S. Oh.. OK, I thought you told me it was OEM. I have a good memory, really, but it's short ;-) Anyway, 45# with the front latch is still 5-6# lighter than the one I have - here's a pic of the heavy one. Note the defined seam all along the perimeter where the top and bottom pieces are bonded together.
