hell i have always been into cars, i had a 95 ta, modded it, had fun and sold it. but once i was spectating at infineon a few years ago and watched a road race heat with 4th gens, and mid 90's mustangs. what is the lowest mod level or class you can start in? i only know of scca or whatever and still don't know of specific classes within the scca. i would like to purchase an LT1 6 speed again and start at step one.

Another option for you is NASA Time Trial, which can be run with no more prep than HPDE. Get your car on track in HPDE, shake out the bugs and get a bunch of seat time with instructors, then move to TT while you plan a CMC build.
NASA NorCal schedule: http://www.nasanorcal.com/ I run tech at all the NASA NorCal events, glad to answer any questions. PS read the rule books first, then the answers to your questions will make more sense. NASA CCR: http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf car prep rules sections 11 and 15, but read the rest also.
