Finally got some time and space to load up the metal scraps I've been squirreling away for 4yrs at the shop and at the house, where my wife threatened to start mixing it with my meals.
Scrap prices are coming back up, got $110/ton for tin/iron mix and $.50/lb for clean aluminum Loaded up on the lift - everything here was stashed under workbenches, under cars, and under foot: (IMG:http://www.blainefabrication.com/projects/2010_04_09/IMG_3491.JPG) This is 2420# of scrap metal: (IMG:http://www.blainefabrication.com/projects/2010_04_09/IMG_3495.JPG) |

I just dropped a single load of copper for over $1100. It was a big load. What are they paying for copper? I've got several car harnesses that I'm going to clip off the connectors with 6" pigtails and sell the rest for scrap. Should have 100# of insulated wire. I also have a bunch of small motors and an old buzzbox that is all transformer - must be 80#, plus the 000 leads. |
