Been lurking and reading for a while and finally found a car that I might buy and start taking to the track. It's a 1995 Firebird with 143k. Obviously, it's a six speed but it is also a hardtop. I know it has a bunch of miles, but overall it is in good condition.
I think it's worth around $4,000. Should I factor in the cost of a rebuild or do you think I can get some more life out of the motor? What should I be careful to look at on it? Thanks! PS - I also have a 94 Z28 M6, but it has been a never ending nightmare project that I just want to get rid of at this point. This post has been edited by racertim: May 10 2011, 08:10 PM |

I recently sold a 1993 hardtop TransAm with nice AX mods for $2000. 200,000 miles.
I sold it to a friend's 22 year old son, so I think I could have gotten $2500 on the open market. I don't think you will get up to $4000 unless it is in mint condition except for the miles. On the upside, the 95 has the good computer (no OBD2). |
