Been lurking and reading for a while and finally found a car that I might buy and start taking to the track. It's a 1995 Firebird with 143k. Obviously, it's a six speed but it is also a hardtop. I know it has a bunch of miles, but overall it is in good condition.
I think it's worth around $4,000. Should I factor in the cost of a rebuild or do you think I can get some more life out of the motor? What should I be careful to look at on it? Thanks! PS - I also have a 94 Z28 M6, but it has been a never ending nightmare project that I just want to get rid of at this point. This post has been edited by racertim: May 10 2011, 08:10 PM |

Wow, is that with a good transmission? I have a 95 Formula donor sitting in my shop that I bought for $1000. It came with a NIB Spec clutch and new GM hydraulics, 17x9 and 17x11 chrome 10 spokes and a 98+ WS6 front body panels. Sold everything but the clutch, getting my initial investment back, put a battery on it and it fired right up and holds good oil pressure. The clutch had come apart and it runs rough, but it runs. This driveline is going into a 93 CMC Camaro I bought bought for $800 ... |
