I have 4 sets of airbags (4 driver/4 passenger) sitting in my garage. I want these gone but can't seem to find a place that buys them or a market for selling them. I realize all the requirements of using new for insurance repairs. There still has to be a market.
Anyone know of a source?
Right now, short of getting a case of beer and having a "what this!" moment, I'm at a loss.

Anyone want to do me a favor and measure the resistance across the 2 terminals on 4th gen F-body bags ? (Drivers and Passangers)...

I need to eliminate mine, BUT would like NO AIRBAG light (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Whoa! Stop right there. Checking resistance in a curcuit is done by inducing a small current through it. This could deploy the bag.

This is true testing resistance can supply enough current to the squib of & fire the air bag.
I have popped quite a few & always tried to pop on with my volt ohm meter, never had one do this though.
don't want to find out the hard way though which ones are sensitive.

If you do want to set them off, cut the connector of if it has one.
Either that or remove the "shorting bar" inside the connector.

Once disconnected, there is a spring loaded metal clip that connects the terminals together.
This helps keep from accidental deployment upon disassembly from static electricity or what ever.
Most air bags have these.

But I think their is too much liability now a days in collision repair to have un documented restraint parts installed on the car.
Ever since the scam of hacks repairing the air bag covers after being deployed & putting resistors inline to keep the light off they've been more picky.
